Mahjong Hanzi blends a well-known solitaire with learning to read. Instead of bamboos and dragons you get characters, pinyin and whole words.

Golden word tiles such as 你好 collect their characters. Complete a word and it bursts into gold.
No pressure
Nothing happens until you move. There is no timer and your score never depends on speed.

Three layouts
One rule, three boards
A tapped tile goes to the dock at the bottom. A character and its pinyin, or two identical characters, clear each other. A full dock ends the round.

Only the bottom rows are visible. After a match the board slides down.

The game’s background is the sky over Poland at this very moment: the stars, traditional Chinese constellations, the Sun and the Moon in its current phase. Dawn brightens in the morning, the evening turns deep blue. This page’s background works the same way.
